Looking for a health spa kind of vacation – want to lose a bit of weight, do some hiking , get some relaxation and get away from it all. I guess Im looking fo a kind of resort but focussed on health, not food and alcohol.
A “Destination Spa” is what you are looking for, not a Resort Spa. Destination Spas are focused on health and life enhancement, feature great hiking as well as several other activities and offer healthy spa cuisine only, no distilled beverages (wine OK at meals).
Pricing is between $1,200 and 8,000 for a 7 day stay and is inclusive of meals, accommodations, activities and some spa services. The spa treatment services depends on the price. Less expensive = few to none, more expensive = more inclusive.
There are only about 30 Destination Spas in North America as compared to the thousands of Resort Spas which are more vacation and pampering oriented. The Southwest and Northeast offer several options with a few in the Midwest and South.

Weather Playa del Carmen features Playa del Carmen’s year-round weather. Its sub-tropical climate is warm most of the time, having an annual average temperature of 27 degrees Celsius or 80 degrees Fahrenheit. With a very high humidity level of more or less than 90 percent, Weather Playa del Carmen can still assure you that Playa del Carmen’s climate is quite consistent, offering you great beaches that are always warm enough to swim. Weather Playa del Carmen presents you their guidelines for Playa during the year.
June, July, and August Weather
Summer is the hottest time of the year in Playa del Carmen, but it is also the season when the sea is calmest and has the best crystal clear water. From June to August, you will find that Playa starts to fill up especially at the beaches where you will find so many tourists and vacationers enjoying the warm turquoise water. Anybody can stay in the water for hours. Rainfalls are only short heavy afternoon showers after a hot day, which can actually come as a relief as it tends to cool things down a little. And nights don’t get any cooler so Weather Playa del Carmen suggests that you take thin cotton clothes and a hat along with you during your vacation. Cloudless days in August can mean unbearable heat for some, so bring along with you your shoes as the sand gets uncomfortably hot to walk on come 12 noon. Sun block is also a must-have since sunburn and dehydration are major health risks during this hot season.
Weather during September, October, and November
On the months of September and October the ocean water is still hot from the summer months but the outside temperature is beginning to drop, making daytime temperature a little bit hot but bearable. This is also the season when tropical storms occur. Despite the climate, evenings in Playa del Carmen between September and November are still beautiful and warm enough for night swimming. Weather Playa del Carmen advises that vacationers should pay close attention to weather reports for safety.
December, January, and February Weather
December to February is the coolest months and vacationers often find the climate comfortable during the winter season. Occasional rains occur but not on a daily basis. However, since cooler winds from the United States often find their way to Playa, night time can be sometimes chilly wherein there are some instances that temperature can drop down as far as 12 degree Celsius. Despite the cooler winds, the sun continues to shine brightly at daytime.
Weather during the months of March, April, and May
During the spring season, things start heating up as the month of March approaches. This is the season where everything in Playa del Carmen is so beautiful, with very little rain and lots and lots of flowers everywhere. While water temperature is still slowly rising, you can already feel the outside temperatures getting warmer. As April comes, you can experience more rain showers that peak on the later part of spring within the months of July and August. Weather has noted that this is the best time of the year in Playa as the place is calmer during these months until the travel season starts in late June. Spring is definitely the perfect time to visit.
What to Wear at Playa del Carmen
Here are some of the things you need to bring along during your stay at Playa del Carmen:
• Cotton and natural fibers are best for a hot and humid climate.
• A cap or hat to shield your face from direct sunlight.
• A sweater or jacket and slacks come in handy if you plan to go during winter.
• Shoes to cover your feet during the cold winter months.
