The health benefits of Hottubs & Spas

There are many health benefits of owning a spa or hot tub and whilst it won’t cure anything, it will significantly relieve some problems and improve health in other areas.  Here are just a few of the many health benefits you can enjoy, when you own a hot tub or spa and make an investment in your health.

Mental Health Benefits

Over 60% of UK adults suffer from stress.  Stress is a leading cause of depression and can also lead to the onset of physical illness.  By owning a hot tub, you can experience the stress relieving benefits of relaxing swirls of warm water that will wash away your stress, relaxing your mind and body at once.   This simple but effective way to relieve stress is a significant way to reduce the effects of stress upon your overall health.

By taking a relaxing dip in the spa before you to go to bed at night, you can also improve the quality of your sleep.  The spa will heat your body and as your core temperature cools, this will help you to fall asleep.

Physical Health Benefits

Humankind has known the benefits of hydrotherapy for thousands of years.   The warm, pulsing waters help to relieve arthritis and other health problems by increasing the blood flow around your joints.  The warm bubbling water helps to relax the muscles and this eases muscle tension.

The steam caused by the spa helps to relax and open up your nasal and bronchial passages, allowing deep, relaxed breathing and thus improving respiratory health.  This is particularly helpful for people that suffer from asthma or other breathing related conditions.

When older people use spas, they often report that the aches and pain of aging are significantly reduced and that using a spa has given them a whole new lease of life!

Just fifteen minutes in the spa each day, can see real benefits for people of all ages.

Rehabilitation

Sports therapy experts often recommend hydrotherapy as a way of recovering from physical injury.   In fact, many hospitals have a hydrotherapy pool for the purposes of patient rehabilitation.  If you have your own hot tub, you can use it whenever you want, you don’t have to wait for an NHS appointment!

People that are undergoing rehabilitation can use a spa to do light exercise whilst they are regaining the strength in their body.  The buoyancy that the water gives them allows them to do this exercise with less effort and less wear and tear on the patient’s recuperating body.

Many of the latest spas feature a range of therapeutic options such as aromatherapy and the powerful soothing multi-directional spa jets that offer a fabulous whole body massage as you relax, submerged in the warm, bubbling water.

Now you too can enjoy the refreshing health benefits of hydrotherapy in your own home. To experience the stimulating benefits of a spa, visit Simply Spas or call 0553 416797 today!

Spa Covers

Spa Covers

These days, pool covers come in extensive lines of manual, semi-automatic, and automatic systems. The latest advances in pool-cover technology include a fast and powerful waterproof cover that is used to power an automatic pool cover; “touchpad controls,” which are standard on every system; and zero-maintenance drive systems. These innovations are all backed by warranties and customer service by the manufacturers. The benefits from automatic covers—including reduced maintenance costs, solar heating, energy conservation, and elimination of evaporation—all result in savings that make up for the cost of the pool cover.

Sometimes called “horizontal fences,” these state-of-the-art pool-cover systems isolate the water and not the pool deck or backyard as conventional fences do. These pool-cover systems support the weight of several adults, providing strong barrier protection as a pool-safety device. It is possible to preserve the elegance of the pool environment with innovative track and housing designs — the latest ones available, when retracted, disappear. All these features are available without inhibiting water features, negative edges, raised walls, zero-entries, freeform designs, or other pool features.

A plain pool can be turned into a spectacular one using water features that have become very popular today. A pool that has multiple water features on two ends, with the slide only a few inches above the water, can also be covered, using the Infinity 4000® with a recessed system and walk-on-tray lid. A recessed system is one in which the motor resides below the pool decking or below ground, thus completely hiding the drive mechanism. The walk-on-tray lid covers the motor housing and provides easy access for maintenance.

A free-form shape adds personality to a pool, in addition to making it aesthetically pleasing. However, it adds to the complication of applying an automatic cover. As a result of innovative technology, free-form pools pose no design limit for the design of automatic covers. The complex designs created by the multiple curves of a pool can be taken care of by using the Infinity 4000 with a “recessed under track” system and a “deck-on-deck” design. In the deck-on-deck design, the pool cover track is on an upper deck, and the pool wall resides below the same upper deck. In a “recessed under track,” system, the motor resides below the pool decking, or below ground, hiding the drive mechanism.
